The Old Bell and Steelyard is a charming and historic pub located in Woodbridge, Suffolk, a picturesque market town by the River Deben. Known for its unique character and heritage, this pub is often considered a local landmark.

The pub is set in a 16th-century building, with a rich history that ties into Woodbridge’s maritime and trading past. The name "Bell and Steelyard" reflects the old practices of the area—where a steelyard (a type of balance scale used for weighing goods) was used for trade, and a bell would signal important times of day, or even serve as a marker for sailors.

The building itself retains much of its original timber framing, giving it a cozy, rustic feel. The steep rooflines, narrow windows, and exposed beams contribute to its period charm.
